Most of the ground work has now been finalised and a fully circular wood chipped path has been completed around the woodland. This includes a substantial bridge over the boggy part with hard-standing at one end for ease of access.
Pupils have been enjoying the newly created woodland craft area with pole-lathes and shaving horses being used to their full potential! The pupils have already made products for use in parts of the woodland with round-wood handrails being cleaved and striped, for use on the lake viewing platform etc.
Wood chopping for the fire pit has also proved a great success, with a campfire cooking area being the result, and marshmallows being toasted and enjoyed by all!
Next on the agenda is the prefabrication of some geodesic domes to be used as temporary shelters in the woodland when the weather is inclement.
