Woodlands Academy receives funding from The Gregg’s Foundation
We are thrilled to announce that we have received £2,000 from the Gregg’s Foundation towards our fantastic Woodlands Project.
The activities we are planning to take place with the aid of this grant will be “traditional woodland crafts.” Students will be able to really get stuck in to these new activities including green wood working skills using pole lathes, making of woodland chairs, use of basic blacksmithing skills to make tools and equipment. These will then be used for the educational areas planned for the further development of our woodland, benefitting current and future students at Woodlands Academy.
The activities will promote the working & management of a woodland area to teach the next generation the importance of our environment and to achieve the range of educational benefits that outdoor learning can offer students.
This project will begin soon, please look out for progress reports on our website and twitter page!
