The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a nationally recognised award for young people aged 14 - 25 years.
A Duke of Edinburgh's Award is so much more than a 'pat on the back' for completing a programme of activities. It is recognition of a young person’s successful journey of self-discovery and development, renowned by employers and universities alike for the qualities young people have who've achieved a DofE Award.
Its balanced programme develops the whole person - mind, body and soul, in an environment of social interaction and team working.
For more information on the DofE please follow the link http://www.dofe.org/ and find out why the DofE can make a world of difference to a young person’s life.
We provide the opportunity for our pupils to do the DofE here at Woodlands Academy. The DofE is a physical and mental adventure from the beginning to the end. You just need to be aged between 14 and 16 and it does not matter what ability you are, we will aim to get you through it, if you put the effort in. It is committing but very enjoyable and it will give you many different benefits.
